Chris Paul spoke candidly about how the Los Angeles Clippers handled his departure, expressing his strong dissatisfaction with what happened last season.
The 41-year-old guard, who returned to LA with the intention of finishing his career there, suddenly found himself out of the lineup during the season, before eventually leaving via a trade. This turn of events sparked strong reactions, and he now admits that the way he was treated was particularly painful.

“It’s probably one of the most disrespectful things I’ve ever experienced,” Paul said on the “Build or Break Podcast,” explaining that the situation affected not only him but also his family and those close to him.
“I’ve been through a lot of crazy things in my career. With older kids and a wife who are very aware of what goes on every day with the team and the organization, obviously I was frustrated, but so were my family and the people around me,” he said.
Paul placed particular emphasis on the investment he and his family had made in the Clippers over the years, expressing his disappointment at how their relationship had ended.
“I think that, because we’ve invested so much in the team for such a long time, seeing the way they handled things…,” he said, concluding with a particularly pointed message:
“It shows you that, no matter what you do or what you’ve done, nobody cares.”
The words of the former Clippers leader reflect the depth of the bitterness left in him by the way his second stint with the team ended, despite the significant place he holds in the organization’s history.
