Thomas Walkup is officially a thing of the past for Olympiacos. After five years with the Piraeus-based team, he is leaving for Dubai BC, which is compensating Olympiacos with $2.6 million.
Now, the 33-year-old star will be facing off against the “Red-and-Whites.” His first matchup against them will take place on Greek soil on November 12, most likely at Sunel Arena. It will be interesting to see how the fans of the Greek and European champions welcome him after everything that happened this summer.
There is also the possibility that Olympiacos could face Dubai BC earlier, in the final or third-place game of the EuroLeague Super Cup (September 19), though it is very likely that the event will be canceled. According to the schedule, on September 18, Olympiacos will face Fenerbahçe and Dubai BC will face Real Madrid in Abu Dhabi.
The game between Olympiacos and Dubai BC is scheduled for March 5 in the Emirates, while Wokap will face Panathinaikos as a member of the Arab team on December 23 in an away game and on February 2 at the Telekom Center in Athens.
