The Mavericks decided to release John Poulakidas, who had a two-way contract with the Dallas team, just a few days before the start of the NBA season.
The 23-year-old shooting guard (1.98 m) participated in the “Mavs,” averaging 7 points on 45.5% shooting from three-point range and 1.3 rebounds in 14 minutes of playing time. Last season, in 13 NBA appearances, he averaged 8.8 points on 40.3% shooting from three-point range and 2.3 rebounds in 19.5 minutes per game.
Olympiacos had shown interest in him over the summer and had been in contact with him in an effort to strengthen its Greek core. Poulakidas’s priority remains finding a team in the NBA, and it should be noted that he does not yet hold a Greek passport.
