The saga surrounding Jalen Duren's future continues. According to ESPN, the Pistons offered the 22-year-old center a five-year, $200 million contract, but his future remains up in the air.
The No. 13 pick in the 2022 draft is reportedly unhappy with the Detroit team’s stance, as he feels they did not value him as much as he would have liked and were notably slow to offer him an extension. His contract expires next summer and will pay him $6.5 million for the upcoming season.
Duren was selected for the All-Star Game and made the league’s third-best starting five for the 2025–26 season, averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game during the regular season. In the playoffs, however, his numbers dropped significantly, averaging 10.2 points and 8.5 rebounds.
