Dortmund provided an update on Konstantinos Karetsas’s condition following his forced exit from the match against Villarreal in the Champions League group stage.
According to the German club, the Greek international experienced circulation issues, which prevented him from continuing the game.
Dortmund clarified that Karetsas is in good condition given the circumstances, but it was deemed necessary to transport him to the hospital for further testing.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder had started the game, but in the 27th minute, he felt unwell and collapsed on the field, prompting Nikos Kovacs to substitute him.
The sight of him being carried off on a stretcher, visibly shaken, caused concern, while the Dortmund fans gave him a warm round of applause, showing him their support.
Now, everyone is waiting for the test results to get a clearer picture of Karetsa’s condition.
