Aris coach Artem Radkov spoke to the media following the friendly victory over Legia Warsaw.
He expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance and highlighted the young players’ showing.
In detail
“It’s difficult to evaluate this game because the two teams are at different stages of their preseason preparation. As you mentioned, our opponent starts its league in a week, while we’ve just begun our preparation. We’ve completed the first phase, but the players are coming off two very demanding weeks in Latvia. On top of that, we had a very tough training session two days before the game.
We didn’t expect to see the team looking particularly fresh or moving exceptionally well today. However, considering all these circumstances, I’m really satisfied with our performance.
I’d like to single out the young players in particular. For them, these are their first steps in professional soccer, and we’re very happy both with their attitude and the way they work every day during preseason. I’m also very pleased with what they showed on the field today.”
