Since being signed by Real Madrid in 2024, Edrick has been struggling to prove that he can truly hold his own at the top European level, while also seeking the opportunity to secure a regular role and valuable playing time.
The Brazilian had a hard time adjusting and was sent on loan to Lyon in January 2026, where he managed to find his footing, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists in a total of 21 appearances.
The 20-year-old returned to Madrid with the goal of convincing José Mourinho that he deserves a spot on the “Queen’s” roster.
In the end, he was unable to do so, as he has played just four minutes this season, and Edrick is now considering a future away from Real Madrid.
According to reports, Roma is very interested in him and will make a move during the January transfer window to sign him on loan.
