Carlos Tevez is finally set to play his own tribute match at the legendary “La Bombonera” stadium. More than four years after retiring from active play, the former Argentine international forward reached an agreement with Boca Juniors president Juan Román Riquelme, to use the stadium and is now planning a spectacular event that aims to make history in world soccer.
This exhibition match is scheduled for this coming December and appears to be the fulfillment of the dream of millions of fans. The reason? Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi may play side by side as teammates on the same team. Tevez is one of the few fortunate players to have shared a locker room with both stars.

First, he won the UEFA Champions League in 2008 alongside “CR7” at Manchester United, and he played for a decade wearing the No. 10 jersey for the Argentine national team, playing alongside Messi.
“Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will be there—I’ll pick them up myself if necessary. I have both of them on WhatsApp,” the former forward revealed regarding the guest list, anticipating many soccer stars in Buenos Aires.
In addition to these two legends of modern soccer, Tevez’s guest list of about 60 people includes prominent figures he’s crossed paths with throughout his career at Manchester United, Juventus, and Boca Juniors, such as Wayne Rooney, Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo, Paul Scholes, and Riquelme himself.
