Rodinei is preparing to leave Olympiacos and return to Brazilian soccer, as he is very close to reaching an agreement with Santos.
According to Brazilian journalist Vene Casagrande, the “Red-and-Whites” have verbally given the “green light” for the release of the 34-year-old right back, with Santos now finalizing the last details of his arrival in Brazil.
Diario do Peixe reports that Rodinei will terminate his contract with Olympiacos, which was set to expire on June 30, 2027, and will sign with Santos through December 2027. The player is expected to travel in the coming days, undergo the necessary medical exams, and then be officially announced by his new team.
Sources in Brazil note that Santos’s management was waiting for final approval from Olympiacos to finalize the deal. Meanwhile, Proza Santista claims that Rodinei’s release is linked to a pay cut, while Radio Craque Neto reports that the Greek club has granted the necessary permission for negotiations to enter the final stage.
Rodinei has been playing for Olympiacos since 2023, when he left Flamengo. During his time in Greece, he has made over 135 official appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing 24 assists, establishing himself as one of the team’s most important players. With the Piraeus-based club, he won the Conference League in the 2023–24 season, followed by the Greek league title and the Greek Cup in 2024–25, as well as the Super Cup.
