Ricardo Sa Pinto expressed his belief that Paphos deserved more than a draw during the press conference, following the “Blue” team’s 1-1 draw with Dinamo City in Tirana, in their first match against each other as part of the Conference League playoffs.
The Portuguese coach focused on his team’s struggles, acknowledged the opponent’s passion and the significant improvement they showed after the halftime break, while calling the disallowed goal by Lele in the 70th minute unfair.
In detail: “I’m not satisfied because we deserved to win. They definitely played a good second half and put pressure on us. We had a very good first half but missed several chances. When we scored, it didn’t count—unfairly, in my opinion. At the end of the day, we got the bare minimum we deserved: a draw. Although this team lacks quality, it does have passion and energy. Now we’re hosting them, and we want to finish the job.
We just couldn’t find the back of the net. That’s what we need to do in the second leg. We knew it—it’s not easy to play here. We knew they switch formations. They did it in the second half, and we had to adjust too. Once we adapted, we managed to tie the game. It wasn’t an easy game. Nor will the next one be. We want to play our game but finish our chances.”
