Maria Sakkari advances to the quarterfinals of the Wuhan Open with an impressive performance!
Greece’s top female tennis player once again proved she’s in excellent form, securing a commanding 2-0 set victory (6-1, 6-2) over 17-year-old Slovakian, Mia Pochankova!
Now, Sakkari is waiting to find out who her next opponent will be, who will be the winner of the match between American Iva Jović and Polish player Maja Chwalinska.
The match began with Sakkari asserting her dominance from the very first games, holding her serve and breaking her opponent’s serve twice in a row to take a 4-0 lead. Pohankova narrowed the gap to 5-1, but that was the only game she won in the first set, which ended with Sakkari taking it 6-1!
