Bodo/Glimt is… 1.5 feet away from the Champions League group stage! The Norwegian team crushed Nijmegen 3-1 in the Netherlands in their first matchup in the playoffs of Europe’s top competition, effectively securing their advancement ahead of next week’s second leg.
The visitors dominated throughout the match and took the lead through Sondre Fette in the 25th minute. Andreas Halmersen made it 0-2 in the 44th minute, while Haitham Al-Shammi scored the third goal in the 50th minute. The only thing Nijmegen managed to do was pull one back with a goal by Klemen Bisof in the 85th minute.
Celtic can feel just as confident about their position after crushing LASK 3-0. Camilo Durán was the star of the show with two goals, while Benjamin Nigrén opened the scoring.
In other matches, Hapoel Be’er Sheva took the first step toward qualifying for the Champions League with a 2-1 victory over Sabah, while everything remains up in the air in the Slovan Bratislava vs. Celje matchup following the 1-1 draw in Slovakia.
