Omonia secured its “ticket” to the Europa League playoffs after defeating Lincoln. As a result, the Cypriot champions are now guaranteed a spot in the group stage of a European competition, since, in the worst-case scenario, they will compete in the League Phase of the Conference League.
In fact, this is only the sixth time in the history of “Greens” that this has happened, having made two appearances in the Europa League group stage during the 2020–21 and 2022–23 seasons and one in the Conference League group stage during the 2021–22 season. Starting in 2024, when the group stage will take the form of a League Phase, the “Clover” has secured two consecutive appearances in the Conference League for the 2024–25 and 2025–26 seasons, and as of today, a third is also guaranteed.
