Serie A: Roma’s bid to stay atop the standings hinges on the match in Como

The schedule for matchday 6

ALPHANEWSLIVE

The major leagues are resuming play following the national teams’ Nations League matches, and in Italy, the race for first place is once again in the spotlight.

After their 2-2 draw—marked by Inter’s dramatic comeback at the “Olimpico”—Roma and the “Nerazzurri” know that any slip-up by one could give the other a major advantage.

The “Giallorossi” face a much tougher task as they travel to Como to face the team led by Cesc Fàbregas and Tasos Douvikas on Sunday afternoon.

By then, they’ll know how Inter fared, since Inter plays on Saturday afternoon against Parma in what is, in theory, a much easier match for Kivo’s team, allowing them to move into first place—even if only temporarily. Lazio, of course, continues to vie for the same spot.

Gennaro Gattuso’s team also has 13 points, the same as Roma and Inter, No one expected the “Laziali” to get off to such a strong start in this year’s league, but here they are… becoming a real thorn in the side of the league leaders. Roma host Monza and can also pursue their own dreams…

Milan must travel to the MAPEI Stadium to face the challenge of Sassuolo, while Juventus will head to Sardinia to take on Cagliari.
