Steve Clarke’s team needs a win to secure qualification in any case, or at least a draw that would put them in a good position to advance as one of the best third-place teams. Carlo Ancelotti’s “Seleção,” on the other hand, is looking for a win as it chases first place in the group. In fact, for the first time in this year’s tournament, Neymar—the all-time leading scorer in the national team’s history—is available to play.

This will be the fifth meeting between the two national teams in the World Cup knockout stage, with the “Seleção” looking to reaffirm its superiority over the Scots.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team did not get off to an ideal start in the tournament, drawing 1-1 with Morocco in their opener. However, they bounced back, comfortably defeating Haiti 3-0 and gaining a significant advantage in the race for qualification.

On the other hand, Scotland continues to dream of its first-ever advancement to the World Cup knockout stage. Despite the loss to Morocco, Steve Clarke’s players managed to secure a victory against Haiti and keep their hopes alive for a historic achievement.
