A dramatic 91st-minute winner for Real Madrid, with Espi as the hero

In its first game since Mourinho's return

It was a nail-biter, but Real Madrid secured a 91st-minute goal and got off to a strong start in this year’s La Liga!

Although they struggled greatly on the road against a feisty Espanyol in their first official match since José Mourinho’s return as head coach, the “Queen” managed to secure a 2-1 victory, with 21-year-old Espi emerging as the hero after scoring the “golden” goal for his team in the 90’+1′!

The match began with Real Madrid coming out strong and taking the lead as early as the 9th minute, when Güler took a free kick and Bellingham sent the ball into the net with a powerful header!

However, the home team found their footing and responded in the 30th minute, when Hernández crossed from the left and the onrushing Calatrava shot on the run, tying the score at 1-1! In the 38th minute, Dmitrovic made a save on an attempt by Mbappé, while in the 45th minute plus 2 seconds, Courtois denied Esposito a goal.

The second half was an attacking monologue by Real Madrid, who created numerous chances—including a shot off the crossbar by Valverde in the 78th minute— until Espi came on to seal the final 1-2 score in the second minute of stoppage time!
