Nottingham Forest is poised to complete a major transfer, as it is in advanced negotiations with Chelsea to sign Liam Delap.
The 23-year-old forward, who had been left out of Chabi Alonso’s plans and was training on his own, was looking for the next step in his career, just one year after being acquired from Ipswich for 40 million euros (including bonuses).
The "Reds" had put the Englishman at the top of their wish list and, by all accounts, are preparing to sign him, significantly bolstering their attack ahead of the new Premier League season.
The deal between the two sides is expected to be around 60 million euros, with Nottingham Forest meeting the London club’s demands.
Last season, he made 41 appearances, scoring two goals and providing four assists across all competitions, primarily coming off the bench, failing to adapt to the “Blues,” who had a mediocre to disappointing season.
