On Tuesday afternoon (July 7), Jannik Sinner celebrated advancing to the semifinals at Wimbledon for the second consecutive year and the third time in his career.
The 24-year-old Italian tennis player, currently ranked No. 1 in the world, faced a tough challenge against Jan-Lennard Struff, whom he defeated 3-0 in sets (7-5, 7-6, 6-3) after a match lasting 2 hours and 37 minutes.
With his excellent serve working in his favor, last year’s British Grand Slam champion managed to break the German—ranked No. 74 in the world—in the tiebreaks of the first two sets, ultimately clinching the victory 6-3 in the third.
Sinner’s next opponent on the road to the final will be the winner of the match between Félix Auger-Aliassime and Novak Djokovic.
