Post-match comments were provided by Henning Berg and the champions’ assistant coach, Nuno Morais.
The “Greens’” coach emphasized that his team was the better side in the first half but failed to capitalize on it, and in the second half, when they tried to create chances… they paid the price and conceded the goal.
On the other hand, the Portuguese coach said he was proud and emphasized that his team deserved this title.
In detail
Henning Berg
“In the first half, we were the better team; in the second, we didn’t play the same way. It was a tough game against a good team. The small details made the difference in the match. We could have moved the ball around better at the start of the second half. After the substitutions, we played better but conceded a goal. The transfer window remains open for a few more days, but I don’t expect any changes.”
Nuno Morais
“We’re very proud to be part of this family. The players are doing a fantastic job. They deserve this title because the team is very well-organized and constantly improving. It’s great to win trophies because it’s a continuation of how we’re building the team. We’re very happy to be here. We’re also happy with our performance—we showed character; we weren’t afraid. We played a fantastic game and we deserve this trophy. We knew the start of the match would be difficult; Omonia is a good team with good players. It took us a little while to adjust, but with a few changes in the second half, we managed to be very strong and win the trophy.”
