APOEL is considering the case of Alexander Geremejev, according to a report in Greece.
As reported, the Swedish forward, who has one year remaining on his contract with PAOK, is open to leaving, and the “blue-and-yellows” are waiting to see how things develop before making their move.
For now, according to the report, the Nicosia-based team is adopting a wait-and-see approach, and it will soon become clear whether any developments arise.
Here’s what the report says: “Everything points to PAOK making changes to its attacking lineup. Efthymis Koulouris is a possibility, while Alexander Geremejev is likely to leave. The Swede has a contract for one more year, but he is open to a transfer if his salary or role changes significantly.
APOEL can guarantee the latter. Yeremeyev knows that at PAOK he won’t be a key player, whereas at the Cypriot club he’ll get significantly more playing time.
Nikos Papadopoulos knows him and believes in him, and they are represented by the same agency. His name has come up in discussions with the “blue-and-yellows,” and this isn’t the first time. APOEL had attempted to sign Geremejev two years ago as well. At this point, the club is adopting a wait-and-see approach, having sent a message to the player’s camp days ago regarding its intentions.
So far, the 32-year-old forward has played in two of the three qualifying matches PAOK has played, coming on as a substitute (in the 2-3 loss to Dynamo Kyiv and the 0-1 loss to Anderlecht). As for last season, he played a total of 29 matches across all competitions with Panathinaikos and PAOK, scoring ten goals and providing three assists.”
