Pavlos Kontidis concluded his run at the World Championships in Dunlaoghaire, Ireland, by competing in the final race held on Sunday (August 30), Pavlos Kontides finished 28th in the overall standings.
In the race—which was held for those who did not finish in the top ten to compete in two medal races— finished 29th and ended with 180 points.
Clearly, this is a result that falls short of the potential and expectations of the sailor from the Limassol Nautical Club, who lost ground in the overall standings during the final races.
We remind you that after the first qualifying rounds, Kontidis was 13th in the overall standings, having won two races and finished 11th, 13th, and 16th in the remaining races, vying for a spot in the top ten.
The final races, however, did not go as planned. Specifically, in the six final races that took place, he finished 23rd, 31st, 33rd, 44th, 16th, and 22nd.
This was Pavlos Kontidis’s last major race of 2026.
