Azeddine Ounai may be among the players Girona—which was relegated to La Liga 2 last season—is looking to loan out, but August is coming to an end and the Moroccan midfielder has not left.
One of the teams interested in signing him is Ajax, and according to reports from Foot Mercato, Girona has granted the former Panathinaikos midfielder permission to travel to Amsterdam to negotiate with Ajax’s management.
Ounaï is under contract with Girona through 2030, and his release clause stands at 25 million euros. Last season, he recorded five goals and three assists in 24 appearances, though he was unable to prevent the team from being relegated.
He also represented Morocco’s national team at the World Cup, scoring two goals in six matches.
