OFI honors the great figures of its past. The Cretans had a historic season last year, winning the Cup with a victory over PAOK in the final.

The Heraklion-based team wanted to honor the memory of its legendary president, Theodoros Vardinoyannis, by taking the trophy to his grave. They also paid tribute at the graves of the team’s longtime coach, Eugenios Gerrard, and the great artist, Manolis Lidakis.
