Centric Nan’s injury has caused a stir at Panathinaikos, just a few weeks before the start of the new season.
The American guard suffered a torn medial meniscus in his right knee during individual training sessions in the U.S., and on Wednesday (August 19) he underwent a successful arthroscopic partial meniscectomy.
Initial estimates suggest a recovery period of 1.5 to 2 months, with his condition being continuously reevaluated by the medical staff. This means that, if Nan ultimately requires the maximum projected recovery time, there is a serious possibility he will miss the start of the EuroLeague.
Specifically, in the two-month scenario, Panathinaikos’ superstar could miss the first six games of Europe’s top club competition. The good news for the “Greens” is that during this period, they have only one away game to play.
The six games he may miss
Round 1 – 09/24: Panathinaikos – Paris
Round 2 – 09/30: Panathinaikos – Villeurbanne
Round 3 – 10/02: Panathinaikos vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv
Matchday 4 – 10/08: Panathinaikos vs. Fenerbahçe
Matchday 5 – 10/13: Partizan – Panathinaikos, Round
6 – 10/16: Panathinaikos – Hapoel Tel Aviv
