Ciro Imobile has decided to bring a great career to a close. The 36-year-old Italian forward announced his immediate retirement from professional soccer, just a few days after his decision to leave Paris FC.
Immobile leaves behind a career filled with goals and major accolades, having made his mark on Italian and European soccer.
The bulk of his career was spent with Lazio, where he became one of Serie A’s top scorers. He stood out for his finishing skills and was also a key player for the Italian national team.
The decision to retire immediately comes after a final, brief stint in France with Paris FC, marking the definitive end of a career that spanned nearly two decades.
As for his major achievements, he was a key member of the Italian team that won Euro 2020 (which was held in 2021 due to the pandemic), and he also won the Golden Boot for the 2019–20 season.
