Efes bid farewell to Shane Larkin after eight years. The Turkish team announced the departure of the American guard, who is expected to continue his career with Fenerbahçe.
The 33-year-old star won two EuroLeague titles, three league championships, one Cup, and four Super Cups during his time with Efes.
This season, he averaged 15.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in the EuroLeague.
Efes’ announcement states:
“When you arrived in 2018, we didn’t know where this journey would take us. But from the very first day, it was clear that you didn’t come here just to play basketball—that you would play a much bigger role in our lives.
Together we dreamed, and then those dreams became reality. Two EuroLeague championships, among countless trophies, victories, historic performances, and, of course, records…
Today we bid farewell not only to a basketball player, but to a role model for many children and an exemplary athlete who will always hold a special place in the history of our club.
Thank you so much for everything you’ve given us, Sugar Shane!”
