The season is over for Jannik Sinner.
The Italian announced this in a social media post, explaining that he has decided to undergo treatment for his knee due to an injury that continues to bother him.
“The doctors and I have decided to proceed with treatment for my knee, so my 2026 season is officially over,” said Sinner, who has not competed since July 12, when he won Wimbledon.
As a result of this decision, Sinner will drop from the top spot in the world rankings. Alexander Zverev is expected to take that spot following his participation in upcoming tournaments.
