Karim Benzema has decided to leave Al-Hilal, with both sides agreeing today (August 31) to terminate their contract.
The 38-year-old French forward is expected to announce the next step in his career soon, with all possibilities still on the table. Benzema is even considering the possibility of hanging up his cleats, while one of the options on the table is to continue his career with another team in Saudi Arabia.
A return to Europe, however, is not in his plans, according to the latest reports.
Benzema moved to Al-Hilal last February, coming from Al-Ittihad. During his brief stint with the Riyadh-based club, he made 16 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists.
Now, the big question is his final decision: will he stay in Saudi Arabia or bring an end to a remarkable career that includes, among other things, winning the Ballon d’Or in 2022 with Real Madrid, as well as five Champions League titles with the “Queen.”
