In its first match since the World Cup and following Lionel Messi’s announcement that he was retiring from the national team, Argentina crushed Bolivia 4-0 in a friendly match held in Córdoba.
Lionel Scaloni’s team opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a beautiful shot by Lautaro Martínez from inside the box, while Nico Pas made it 2-0 in the 29th minute with a beautiful chip shot. Two more goals came in the second half: in the 54th minute with a header by the new captain, Cristian Romero, and a shot by José Manuel López in the 86th minute.
Next up is the friendly against Burkina Faso, which will take place early Sunday morning (3:00 a.m.), and finally, the big friendly against Benin in the early hours of Thursday (2:00 a.m.), in which Lionel Messi will wear the national jersey for the last time.
