We’ve had our fill of seeing them as rivals. Just before they retire, we’ll see them as teammates for the first time! We’re talking about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who—as Carlos Tevez confirmed— will be on the same team in an exhibition match to be held in honor of the veteran forward at “La Bombonera” in Buenos Aires this December.
“I’ve always dreamed of seeing Cristiano and Leo play on the same team. They’re the two greatest players of all time. I reached out to them, especially Cristiano. I told him, ‘Cristiano, I want you and Leo on the same team for my farewell match. So that everyone can witness this magic one last time.” And he told me he’d be there. Convincing Leo wasn’t difficult. They both gave me their consent. I can’t wait. “This match will be very emotional,” Tevez emphasized.
Tevez and Ronaldo were teammates at Manchester United from 2007 to 2009, while “El Apache” was a longtime teammate of Messi on the Argentine national team.
