Through the Independent Football Regulator, David Cogan, it was estimated that the high-profile Manchester City case involving 115 financial violations is expected to be resolved and a verdict on the club’s fate to be reached during the current season!
Specifically, Cogan noted that the Premier League governing body also wants the matter resolved immediately following the independent committee’s ruling finding the club guilty, which, in turn, has challenged the committee’s ruling by filing an appeal.
The head of the Independent Football Regulatory Authority (IFR), sent a clear message to the British government, making it clear that any interference in this specific case would lead to his resignation.
This comes in the wake of recent statements—which did no good at all—by Prime Minister Andy Burnham, who tried to distance himself from the issue and emphasized that it would be bad if drive Arab investors away from the United Kingdom if the Manchester club were to be severely punished.
