AEK showed they were in good form with a 4-0 victory over Athens Kallithea in their final warm-up match ahead of Wednesday’s (August 12) Super Cup against OFI, in front of approximately 18,000 fans at Allwyn Arena.
An amazing debut for Milan Vitalis, who scored a magnificent goal and made a strong impact as a starter, followed by a second-half hat trick from Mijat Gacinović. Marko Nikolić fielded two different starting lineups.
The friendly match was dedicated to the memory of Michalis Katsouris, who was murdered three years ago today outside the stadium. Before kickoff, both teams laid flowers on a huge banner in the shape of the deceased, while a minute of silence was observed, and the “yellow-and-blacks” played wearing black armbands.
