Mohamed Salah to Besiktas? It might have seemed like a joke not too long ago, but right now, it looks very likely!
The Turkish club has submitted an offer of 10,000,000 euros for one year, plus an additional two years in the form of bonuses. The 34-year-old Egyptian is not opposed to the possibility of moving to Turkey, but he is said to have set a specific condition.
According to journalist Yagiz Sambudoglu, he has requested a bank guarantee for the contract offered to him by Besiktas.
If everything goes smoothly and he receives the guarantees regarding the money Besiktas is offering him, then the deal is considered highly likely to be finalized. At least according to his own report, since the club has a different stance.
This particular post by the Turkish journalist provoked an angry reaction from Besiktas, which issued a statement in response. “This gentleman is publicly misleading the public by publishing, for some time now, news stories he fabricates from his office regarding our club’s transfer proceedings, which have no basis in reality,” he stated, among other things, to which he replied:
“My respect for Besiktas is boundless, but I stand by my report on Salah. Mohamed Salah, whose signing I was the first to report in Turkey, has reached an agreement with Besiktas. The official signing has not yet taken place. I hope we’ll have the opportunity to announce the signing to our friends at Besiktas as well.” Which of the two reports will be confirmed and what exactly is happening in this particular case, only time will tell.
It should be noted that Mohamed Salah remains a free agent following his departure from Liverpool, which will be official on July 1, 2026. Since the summer of 2017, when he arrived at Anfield, he began “building” his legacy, and by the time he left, he had made 442 appearances, scoring 257 goals and providing 123 assists. Legendary achievements. At the same time, he linked his name to the “golden” chapters of the club’s recent history: winning the Premier League in 2020 and 2025, and most notably, winning the Champions League in 2019.
