The Cypriot Olympic family is in mourning following the passing of Vera Lazaridou, wife of the former president and honorary president of the Cypriot Olympic Committee, Kiki Lazaridis, has passed away. The COC expressed its heartfelt condolences to the family, bidding an emotional farewell to a woman who actively supported the Olympic movement and culture.
The COC’s statement of condolence: “The Cyprus Olympic Committee and the extended family of the Olympic Movement bid a heartfelt farewell to Vera Lazaridou, wife of the former president and honorary president of the COC, Mr. Kiki Lazaridis.
Vera Lazaridou has passed away, having herself supported Olympism and culture in many ways.
The president of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, Mr. Georgios Chrysostomou, the members of the Executive Committee, the administrative staff, and the employees of the COC extend our deepest condolences and send our love and support to Mr. Lazaridis and his children, Christakis and Katia, on the loss of their wife and mother. May she rest in peace… May her memory be eternal and the soil that covers her be light…
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, at 4:30 p.m. at the Church and Cemetery of Saints Constantine and Helen in Aglatzia (Nicosia). The family will receive condolences between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.”
