PSV Eindhoven Triumphs in the Big Dutch Derby!
PSV defeated Ajax 2-1 in Amsterdam, celebrating their fourth consecutive Eredivisie victory and returning to the top of the standings, leaving their archrival six points behind!
The visitors opened the scoring in the 5th minute of the derby with a header by Pepi, with the home team responding in the 23rd minute when Arokondare found the back of the net from close range. However, Eindhoven retook the lead in stoppage time of the first half with a stunning goal by Geertruida, before Bairaktarevic sealed the final 1-3 score in the 90’+2′, following a counterattack by the visitors!
Earlier, during Nikola Panagiotou’s debut, the match between Utrecht and Go Ahead Eagles was permanently suspended due to objects being thrown onto the field. The visitors were leading 3-0 when home fans threw smoke bombs, prompting the referee to temporarily halt the game.
Both teams returned to the field and the match continued, but when Utrecht narrowed the gap to 1-3, objects were thrown onto the field again, prompting the referee to call off the game for good.
