This summer isn't going well at all for Rafinha. In addition to the muscle injury he suffered, which threatens to keep him out of the rest of the World Cup, the Brazilian winger is also facing a very serious family issue.
According to reports in his home country, his own father, Rafael Beloli, allegedly defrauded him in order to keep a large portion of his fortune. As reported, the father of the Barcelona star is said to have appropriated 80% of the player’s income from image rights and commercial deals in recent years. The father reportedly did not explain to his son for years how he had signed the contracts, which is why the soccer player believed he was earning more money than he actually was.
Rafinha hadn’t realized anything until recently, when he and his wife decided to buy a house in Barcelona for 10 million euros, but during the purchase negotiations, the banks informed the player that his financial situation was not what he had expected. The 29-year-old soccer player reportedly immediately severed all business ties with his father, who had been managing his finances. Until further notice, the player’s business decisions have been entrusted to his father-in-law, Alexandre Madeira, who has official authorization from FIFA to negotiate his endorsement contracts.
