Winning the league title and advancing as far as possible in the Europa League are the goals Tiknizian has set for this year, as he explained in an interview on Olympiacos’ YouTube channel following the announcement of his signing by the Piraeus club.
The Armenian star first spoke about his feelings regarding the transfer…

“I feel amazing. Signing with Olympiacos means a great deal to me. A year ago, I joined the best club in Serbia, and today I’m at the best club in Greece. One of the strongest clubs in Europe, I’d say. Two years ago, Olympiacos won the Conference League, which was a major achievement both for Greece and for the club in general. And of course, when you join a team like this, you have to live up to all the expectations—the expectations of the fans and the management. Right now, I don’t want to talk too much about what I’ll do here. I just want to show what I can do on the field and be useful to the team.”
He was already familiar with Olympiacos, and as he reveals, he asked a few people for their opinions on the team when he learned of the Red-and-Whites’ interest…
“Everyone in Serbia knows Olympiacos. Red Star and Olympiacos have a strong, brotherly relationship. Before coming to Olympiacos, I spoke with Marko Arnautović and my former teammates at Red Star, and they all agreed that it’s an amazing choice—a great club, a nice place, and a nice city. I didn’t hear a single negative comment from anyone—everyone had nothing but good things to say about this club.”
Referring to his performance, he emphasized:
“I’d describe myself this way: I’m always determined to win, no matter who we’re playing against. I always try to give my all. I know that my strength is my movement. I’m constantly focused on the opponent’s goal, even though I play left back. I always try to be active on the field, and that energy is beneficial for the team. And I hope to maintain that momentum here as well.
If I had come from another team and not from Red Star, I probably wouldn’t be ready for this pressure and the expectations of everyone associated with this great club. But because I came from a place that also has pressure—where there are fans at every game, and they expect a lot from you in every game—I think I’m ready and I understand very well where I stand. That’s why I want to turn words into action. I hope we win the title this year and go as far as possible in the Europa League,” he emphasized, concluding by addressing the team’s fans.
“I’d like to thank the Olympiacos fans for the support I see on social media, especially on Instagram. It’s very gratifying for me that people are welcoming me with such positive feelings. This gives me extra motivation, knowing that I’ve come to the right place. As I said earlier, I don’t want to talk too much—I want to start showing what I can do on the field.”
