For the second consecutive year, APOEL is organizing its annual tournament in memory of Giorgos Platis, honoring a man who left his own unique mark on Cypriot futsal and, in particular, on the history of “blue-and-yellow” team.
His time with the Nicosia team was marked by significant successes; in his roles as coach and technical director, he helped the team win three championships, two cups, and one Super Cup.

Giorgos Platis was a distinguished figure in Cypriot futsal and a man whose name is forever linked to our team’s major successes. He served APOEL as head coach during the 2013–2015 and 2017–2018 seasons, as well as technical director during the 2015–2016 season.
During his time with our team, he helped us win three league titles, two cups, and one Super Cup, leaving an indelible mark on the club’s history.
Above and beyond the titles and successes, however, what remains is the memory of a man who served APOEL and Cypriot futsal with dedication, passion, and integrity.
This tournament is a small tribute to Giorgos Platis and a promise that his contributions and memory will remain alive forever.
