The captain of the Bosnia andHerzegovina announced on Thursday morning (September 3) that he has decided to retire from his country’s national team, giving one final performance in front of his compatriots.
Specifically, the 40-year-old Schalke striker announced that his “Last Dance” will take place on October 2 during Bosnia andHerzegovina’s home match against Sweden for the third matchday of the Nations League, giving the country’s fans the chance to bid him farewell with glory and honors!
The veteran forward has been playing for his country’s national team since 2007 (!), racking up 151 appearances, 71 goals, and 31 assists over those 19 years, making him the all-time leader in all three categories.
