The legendary Kevin Keegan passed away at the age of 75 after his battle with cancer.
Anorthosis paid tribute to him and recalled when, in 1984, the Englishman wore the team’s jersey for a friendly match against Omonia.
The statement: “Farewell to soccer legend Kevin Keegan.
Today, the soccer world mourns the loss of a great athlete and human being. Kevin Keegan left his mark on the history of the sport, and Anorthosis had the honor of having him play for the club.
We respectfully remember the moment when the legendary “King Kev” donned the jersey of the “Great Lady” in that historic friendly match against Omonia in 1984. A moment that remains etched in our Club’s memory.
Safe travels, Kevin.
