Panagiotou made special mention of his teammates, coaches, the staff, and the management, while his message to the Omonia fans was especially heartfelt, as he thanked them for their love and support.
“I may be saying goodbye to Omonia today, but I’m not saying goodbye to the memories, the people, and everything I’ve experienced here. These will always be a part of me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything. Until we meet again,” he wrote.
Here’s what he wrote in full: “To the entire Omonia family,
The time has come to say a big ‘thank you’ and a difficult ‘goodbye.’
It’s not easy to write this message, because Omonia is a very important part of my life and my soccer career.
From the very moment I joined the team, I felt the trust and support of everyone here. Omonia gave me the opportunity to grow, to compete at a high level, and to showcase my potential. For all of this, I will always be grateful.
Together, we experienced beautiful moments, difficult moments, joys, and disappointments. All of these, however, are part of a journey that I will carry with me forever.
In every match, I tried to give 100% and honor the jersey I wore. The love and support I received from the Omonia fans will remain etched in my heart forever.
A big thank you to my teammates, the coaches, the staff, and everyone in the organization who contributed to this journey. A huge thank you to Mr. Simos, who always believed in me all these years, and to the president, who was always there for all of us.
And of course, a special thank you to the fans.
I may be saying goodbye to Omonia today, but I’m not saying goodbye to the memories, the people, and everything I’ve experienced here. These will always be a part of me.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything.
Until we meet again.”
