England is considering a completely unorthodox solution ahead of its match against Mexico at the high altitude of the “Azteca,” with reports in the UK stating that the “Three Lions” have received the green light from WADA to use Viagra. The high altitude—over 2,200 meters—has caused concern among the coaching staff, with Thomas Tuchel emphasizing that his players are struggling to adapt to the low-oxygen conditions.
The drug, also known as “Vitamin V,” is not on the list of banned substances and is used to dilate the blood vessels in the lungs, which can help improve oxygen circulation at high altitudes. According to TalkSport, its use may alleviate symptoms such as dizziness and premature fatigue, which often occur in races held in thin air.
Studies have shown that at altitudes above 3,800 meters, performance improves by up to 35%, which reinforces the view that this solution could help England meet the demands of the match at the “Azteca” for a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup.
