PAOK wanted more than just three points from the Stoiximan Super League opener. It wanted a result that would give it peace of mind, confidence, and a better mental state, especially at a time when the “Double-Headed Eagle” has several ongoing challenges and needs time to find its competitive identity.
And they managed to achieve all of that against Levadiakos, winning 4-0 at Toumba in convincing fashion and without being particularly pressured. Alessio Lisi’s team found the answers against a timid Levadiakos, which was confined to a passive role for most of the match and showed that the transition from last year’s team to a new squad will take time.
For PAOK, however, time is precious. And this result gives them exactly what they needed: peace of mind to work and build momentum ahead of the match against Brann (August 27 – 8:00 p.m.), as well as a solid starting point for the rest of the league season.
