Andrea Trinchieri was visibly disappointed and frustrated in his comments, following PAOK’s narrow loss to Olympiacos in the Stoiximan Super Cup final, with a score of 101–96 at the Peristeri Indoor Arena.
The Italian coach of the “Double-Headed Eagle of the North” commented on the refereeing calls in the final and the fact that there were many fouls called against his team, emphasizing that he is still trying to figure out how to deal with the referees.
Here is what he said in detail:
On the final:
“We lost the final—what would you like me to say to that? I’m frustrated; I’d prefer a different question to answer.”
On what changed in the second half:
“We didn’t have the same energy as yesterday. In the first half, energy was an issue because we played last night. In the second half, we fought hard—that’s what I promised, and I’m proud of that.
There were a lot of fouls and four technical fouls. I’m still trying to figure out how I should work with the referees and how we’ll handle it. Overall, we’re satisfied with how we played.”
