A big win for Stefanos Tsitsipas in China. The Greek champion, ranked 43rd in the world, managed to knock out Taylor Fritz in the round of 32 at the Rolex Shanghai Masters (ATP 1000) with a comeback victory.
The American, ranked No. 12 in the world and No. 11 in the draw, took the first set 6-3, but the 28-year-old Tsitsipas evened the match by narrowly winning the second set 7-5 and dominated the third and decisive set 6-3.
Tsitsipas’s next opponent for a spot in the quarterfinals will be the winner of the match between Daniil Medvedev (Russia, No. 6) and Dalibor Svirčina (Czech Republic, No. 126).
