TRIA EKA AEL secured its second victory in as many games in the European North Basketball League, defeating the Fyllingen Lions 76-58 at the “Nikos Solomonides” Arena.

The Limassol team controlled most of the game, building a nine-point lead in the first quarter and never allowing the Norwegians to pose a serious threat thereafter.

The Fyllingen Lions scored the first two points of the game, but AEL’s response was immediate. With Glover and Clark leading the offense, the blue-and-yellows took an 8-4 and 14-8 lead, closing out the first quarter ahead 20-11.

In the second quarter, AEL extended their lead to 23-11, but the visitors gradually managed to close the gap. With Nilsen scoring from the perimeter, Fyllingen closed the gap to 25-23 before the Cypriot team responded and headed into the locker room with a six-point lead, 34-28.

With Bailey scoring both in the paint and from the perimeter, Glover dominating near the basket, and Clark creating and finishing plays, the lead grew to 16 points at 48-32. The Fyllingen Lions briefly cut the lead, but the home team maintained control and ended the third quarter at 54-42.

The Norwegians made a run at the start of the final quarter and closed the gap to seven points, 54–47, but AEL wouldn’t let them get any closer.
