A great success for Vladimiros Tziortzis, who concluded his run in the 2026 NASCAR EURO SERIES driving the Capital.com Ford Mustang V8, with the No. 6 on the doors, in 3rd place in the overall standings of the European Championship, based on the points he earned in both the OPEN and V8GP categories.

The Cypriot driver, with the points he added to his tally in the final race of the year, at Circuit Zolder in Belgium, finished 5th in the overall standings of the OPEN category, among 32 drivers, and 10th in the V8GP, in which 35 drivers competed.

“I can say that I’m completely satisfied with this year. Things certainly could have been even better, since right up until the last lap of the season I was in the top three in the OPEN overall standings,” says Vladimiros Tziortzis, adding: “We’re taking away the fact that, with the points we earned in both categories, we moved the Capital.com car up to third place.”

The Race in Belgium

The final race weekend of the season was particularly challenging, with the weather playing a decisive role. Friday’s practice sessions took place on a dry track, but heavy rain overnight changed the situation, with the drivers having to race on a wet track on Saturday.

In the V8GP qualifying session, Tziortzis secured a spot in Superpole, where he posted the eighth-fastest time, while in the OPEN qualifying session, on a track that remained quite wet in places, he posted the fifth-fastest time.

Starting the first OPEN race from 5th position, in a race affected by heavy rain that led to a temporary suspension, he finished fifth after the restart. On Sunday, he started seventh in the category’s second race and was in third place until the penultimate lap.

Over the final ten laps, he fought hard against Dombrowski (No. 24), Cappelli (No. 54), and Doubek (No. 7). “On the final lap, I dropped to fifth and was behind Dombrowski and Cappelli in the battle for third place when Doubek hit me from behind, sending me into the cars ahead of me and off onto the grass. So I finished 10th, which meant I ended up 5th in the overall standings,” said Tziortzis.

In the V8GP, he finished ninth in the first race on Saturday, while on Sunday, starting from 16th place, he made an impressive comeback, climbing as high as 8th place with a series of passes, but two laps before the finish, at the same corner where the incident occurred in the OPEN class, he was hit again. “The collision with No. 34 sent me into the dirt, but I managed to get the car out of the sand trap,” notes the Cypriot driver, who finished the race in 13th place—a result that secured him 10th place in the final V8GP standings.

Vladimir Tziortzis’s platinum sponsor is Capital.com, while his efforts are also supported by sponsors ISX Financial, Paidby, and Cytavision, as well as his supporters: Alco Filters, Psaltis Auto Parts, Televantos Used Trucks, Daytona Raceway, Serenity Boutique Houses, Sana Hiltonia, and ENCY Software.
