Vinícius is looking forward with great confidence to the start of Real Madrid’s campaign in this year’s Champions League.
The Madrid side is putting their 1-0 loss to Betis in La Liga behind them and is now focusing on their European debut, where they will host Inter at the “Bernabéu” on Tuesday night (09/08).

Shortly before Real’s first “battle” in the group stage, the Brazilian forward made no secret of his high ambitions. Vinícius emphasized that his team wants to return to the top of European soccer, setting the goal of winning the club’s 16th European title.
At the same time, he acknowledged that Real Madrid did not perform as well as they would have liked in the previous two tournaments, but expressed confidence that things will turn out differently this year.
The 26-year-old star also spoke about Inter, describing them as a particularly strong team. He highlighted the way the “Nerazzurri” defend, noting that their five-man defensive line is something that could cause problems for the Madrid team.
Here’s what he said in detail:
“I hope we win this 16th Champions League title. We’re ready. This is our tournament. Our performances have been disappointing over the past two years. Our first goal is to finish in the top eight.
This competition still excites us. This season will be different from the previous two, and we’ll win the Champions League.
Every time the Champions League comes around, it’s different. We’re ready for this match against a great team that will demand a lot from us. Inter is a very strong team.
They play with five defenders, which usually causes us problems, but the coach has a solution. We’re missing a few players, which complicates things, but we’ll all give it our all, and I hope we can forge that special bond with our fans.”
