Two months before turning 36, Nikola Vučević remains in the NBA and will play for Orlando again this season. He has ruled out the possibility of playing in Europe anymore, but if he were to do so, he singled out three teams he could play for, and among them is Olympiacos.
““Which EuroLeague teams would I play for? I’d definitely play for Red Star—I support them; everyone knows that. I’ve also always had a soft spot for Real Madrid. Or maybe Olympiacos. Real Madrid is, after all, a legendary team. And I love soccer; I don’t support them, but I have great respect for their history, their culture, and what they represent. I also like Olympiacos. In recent years, they’ve been a good team that wins and builds teams in the literal sense of the word. I like the way they play. They also have amazing fans, as well as a brotherly relationship with Red Star,” said the Montenegrin center.
As for the best teammate he’s ever had? “I wouldn’t single anyone out, because I’ve really had a lot of great teammates throughout my career. Every season and on every team I’ve been on, I’ve had very close relationships with my teammates. I’ve always tried to build those relationships and be a good teammate off the court. “I was pretty close with Evan Fournier in Orlando—everyone knows that—because I speak French,” he emphasized.
Vučević has been playing in the NBA since 2011 and has appeared in two All-Star Games (2019, 2021). In 1,058 games in the world’s top league, he has averaged 17.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 31.2 minutes per game.
