Bodo/Glimt confirmed in the most emphatic way possible its return to the Champions League group stage, as it defeated Nijmegen 3-0 in the playoff second leg and, combined with the 3-1 victory in the first leg in the Netherlands, advanced with an aggregate score of 6-1.
The Norwegian team left no room for doubt at “Aspmyra,” taking control of the match from the start and comfortably managing both the significant lead they had built in the first leg and their numerical advantage, as just 3 minutes in the Dutch goalkeeper, Kretaz, was sent off with a straight red card.
Bjørkan opened the scoring in the 45+2′, and just three minutes later, Aukland doubled the Norwegians’ lead. The final score of 3-0 was set in the 73rd minute, when Vonvil accidentally sent the ball into his own net.
As a result, Bodø/Glimt will advance to the League Phase of Europe’s top club competition for the second consecutive season. The Norwegian team also made history last season, reaching the Champions League round of 16 in an impressive European campaign.
